CARLSBAD STATE PARK

My family enjoy's Carlsbad state park, mainly for the camping. Although it takes time to get a reserved lot, its definitely worth the wait! We love to have the beach as our front yard while we barbecue. In addition, the location allows my family to surf whenever we please without the headache of traffic. There is endless amounts of fun in the sun at this park!

If you are willing to venture a little further north, you will easily be able to locate the Carlsbad State Park. This park has all kinds of amenities including: Bike Riding, Fishing, Scuba Diving/Snorkeling, Beach Area, Swimming, Windsurfing/Surfing etc. Similar to Mission Bay Park, this park is conveniently located near the ocean. For those willing to pay an extra fee there are campsite accommodations. Due to the desirable location, advance reservations are necessary. In addition, there is a gorgeous view of the surrounding areas, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of San Diego.

In comparison to other destinations in the area, Carlsbad tends to be a tad cooler, therefore I would recommend bringing a light jacket.
