BALBOA PARK
Balboa park is a family favorite it! My children are 4 and 11 so it is difficult to find a place that both age groups can enjoy. My oldest prefers the Aerospace Museum as it completely enthralls his imagination. In contrast, my youngest enjoys the Science Center, he is completely entertained throughout the visit. This Park is truly compatible with all ages. My family has been attending Balboa for over 10 years and always find something new to explore.
Balboa Park is the largest park in San Diego, in fact, it’s even larger than Central Park in New York City. There are several museums to choose from that include some of my favorites such as: The Natural History Museum, The Museum of Man and The Aerospace Museum. Within this park you can also find The Science Center and IMAX Movie Theatre. The Science Center is great for stimulating the minds of all ages. The San Diego Zoo is also considered to be located in Balboa Park and the average cost per person is around $85. In addition, there is a dog park, water fountains, and gardens, plus numerous kid parks. When attending this park, it is important to bring some extra cash for the amenities. Museums cost around $8-20, The Imax movie tickets average at $15, and there are many places for snacks and drinks that range in price as well. Many of the sites have a closing time, therefore it is equally important that you make sure you arrive at the appropriate times. Keep in mind that this park is EXTREMELY large, so prepare to reserve an ample amount of time to site see, and the possibility of having to come back.
